Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update: OS Still Coming To US HTC One Models But Not With Rumored HTC Sense 5.5 UI

As HTC fans not so patiently wait for the release of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on U.S. models of the HTC One, new reports indicate that a new version of the HTC Sense user interface will not be included in the update.

Many are expecting to see U.S. models of the HTC One updated to Android 4.3 by the end of September as promised by HTC President Jason Mackenzie. Tech informant LlabTooFeR clues us in that the update is in fact on its way; however, the HTC Sense 5.5 UI is reportedly now also on its way, but will not be on board with Android 4.3 for the U.S. HTC One. According to LlabTooFeR, we will see the U.S. HTC One update to Android 4.3 with the current Sense 5 UI.

The international model of the HTC One notably was updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 in July, but the U.S. model has been pegged to skip Android 4.2.2 in favor for Android 4.3 since there are only minor updates between the two versions. This was confirmed by HTC in August.

It appears that in order to keep the HTC One line a hot commodity, the Taiwanese manufacturer plans to update the international HTC One as well as the HTC One mini and HTC Butterfly S to Sense 5.5 in lieu of an Android 4.3 update.
